Red Delicious apples are the big shiny solid red apple you see in every supermarket year round. However, a home grown Red Delicious apple far surpasses these in quality and taste. The fruit is very sweet and good for eating.

Remember that apple trees need to be planted near other apple trees so that they can polinate eachother and produce fruit. Ideal companions for Red Delicious apple trees are Gala, Granny Smith, Jonathon, Pink Lady and Fuji. This is because they all flower at a similar time.
